HISTORY AND REPUTATION OF THE LAW FIRM

The law firm is one of the prominent law firms in Brno with a long-standing tradition, providing legal services since 1.7.1990, from the very beginning of private legal practice.

SPECIALIZATION AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

The law firm has gained reputation especially through its specialization in providing legal services to foreign clients and clients with foreign property interests. The firm has extensive experience in international private law and international trade law, gained through long-term cooperation with significant foreign law firms and representation of foreign clients in the Czech Republic, as well as Czech legal entities with foreign owners.

AREAS OF LAW AND SERVICES PROVIDED

The law firm provides legal services in all areas of law, with a focus on commercial law, civil law, and international private law. Legal services are provided in Czech, German, and English, to both corporate entities and individuals.

The firm is a member of the German Lawyers Association (VDA) and has been a long-standing member of the international association of law firms EUROJURIS (more information can be found in the International Cooperation section).

CORPORATE AND COMMERCIAL LAW

The law firm offers comprehensive legal services to companies, handling all statutory and corporate matters, as well as drafting commercial and employment contracts and documents related to the daily operations of business entities (e.g., general terms and conditions tailored to client needs, contract templates, etc.).

REAL ESTATE AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Another significant area of legal services includes contractual obligations such as contracts for development projects, real estate purchase agreements including escrow services, mortgage contracts, and lease agreements, including enforcement of these agreements before courts or arbitration panels.

FAMILY LAW AND INHERITANCE

The firm represents clients in family law matters, particularly in the settlement of marital property and inheritance matters, including international inheritance cases (especially in Germany, Austria, and the USA).

COMPENSATION CLAIMS AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT

The law firm provides legal advice and representation in compensation claims, including claims related to international road transport of goods (CMR).

EMPLOYMENT LAW AND INSURANCE LAW

The firm has specialists in employment law and handling employment disputes, as well as specialists in corporate transformations and acquisitions. With extensive experience representing one of the major insurance companies in the Czech insurance market, the firm has significant expertise in insurance law. The firm also deals with establishing and managing trust funds.

TRAINING ACTIVITIES

Training activities are an integral part of the firm’s legal services for major corporations and other entities (e.g., business chambers), particularly focusing on contractual obligations, corporate law, application of general terms and conditions, and employment law.

CRIMINAL LAW

The law firm also represents clients in criminal law matters, both in defense ex officio and by power of attorney. The firm specializes in defending clients in economic criminal cases and traffic offenses.

REPRESENTATION BEFORE PUBLIC AUTHORITIES

The law firm provides legal representation to clients not only in general courts or arbitration proceedings but also in negotiations with various public authorities (e.g., cadastres, construction authorities, customs offices, or the Office for the Protection of Competition).

DEBT COLLECTION

The law firm includes a specialized department for bulk debt collection, ensuring rapid and effective recovery of client debts. As part of this agenda, we have managed receivables for one of the leading Czech non-banking entities and currently focus on recovering claims from canceled and delayed flights against airlines.

INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY IN VIENNA

Since March 2013, the law firm has had a branch in Vienna, managed by Mgr. Michal Vávra. This branch offers legal assistance to Czech entities in Austria, including debt recovery (filing lawsuits and applications for (European) payment orders, execution proposals, claims registrations in insolvency), establishment of companies and organizational units of Czech business corporations in Austria, representation in civil and criminal proceedings before Austrian courts, drafting or reviewing real estate purchase agreements and other contracts under Austrian law (e.g., work contracts, general terms and conditions), representation in administrative proceedings before Austrian authorities (traffic offenses, offenses related to wage and social dumping, etc.), claims for compensation (from traffic accidents, skiing collisions, etc.), cross-border inheritance matters, handling cases in international transport, and enforcing passenger rights regarding delayed and canceled flights against airlines.
